The Federación Mexicana de Fútbol Asociación (FMF) announced the list of players called up to the U-15 Mexican Men’s Youth National Team (MYNT) for the Concacaf Boys’ U-15 Championship, with 15-year-old Austin FC Academy midfielder Viggo Ortiz named to the roster.
Ortiz joined the U-15 Mexican MYNT for the program’s training camp from July 16-31 in Mexico City and will now compete at the tournament in the Dominican Republic beginning August 6. Mexico was drawn in a group alongside Saudi Arabia, El Salvador, and Jamaica.
Ortiz was a member of the Austin FC U-15 team that won the 2023 Generation adidas Cup, and was named the tournament’s MVP. The call-up is his first involvement with the U-15 Mexican MYNT.
