The Austin FC Academy announced today a partnership with SAI Academy. SAI has begun its first full year as the exclusive pre-college academic provider for Austin FC Academy players.

“Austin FC Academy is proud to work with SAI to provide our players with holistic support in the classroom as well as on the field,” said Austin FC Academy General Manager Tyson Wahl. “This academic-focused resource will assist our athletes in the most important area of their development: their education. The customized scheduling and flexibility will also allow our students to take advantage of soccer opportunities that will aid their development.”

Each Austin FC Academy player will meet with SAI staff to create a weekly studying plan and a graduation plan. These plans are individualized to support each student’s current and future academic goals, and along the way, students receive on-site support such as progress monitoring, pacing, regular academic check-ins, and tutoring. All students are placed in a fully accredited curriculum and tracked as NCAA athletes allowing a seamless transition to a Division I, II or III institution.

The Austin FC Academy coaching staff receive weekly updates on their players’ progress during the entire year, allowing the team to have a pulse on their players’ academics in the height of their college recruiting process.

SAI Academy also offers various leadership and college preparation online seminars to holistically round out their academic year.

“We are thrilled to partner with the players and coaching staff at Austin FC,” said SAI Academy Director of Partnerships and Operations Lauren Richards. “The support the Austin FC staff, our student-athletes and their families has given us to successfully launch our program as our newest MLS Next club has been outstanding. We are continually growing within the partnership and look forward to watching our student-athletes flourish in and out of the classroom at such a high level.”
