With the release of any league schedule around the world, fans’ eyes quickly search out derby matches, and it’s no different in Texas. After MLS announced its 2026 regular season schedule on Thursday, the path to win Copa Tejas and earn in-state bragging rights for the year became clear for supporters of Austin FC, FC Dallas, and Houston Dynamo FC.
Whichever team can collect the most points from its four matches against its rivals will claim the trophy. Austin will play both of its matches against Houston prior to facing Dallas, opening the Copa Tejas campaign at home vs. the Dynamo on April 25. As in 2025, two matches in quick succession vs. Dallas in August and September will prove pivotal to determining where the cup will reside.
