Austin FC II is set to face LAFC2 at Parmer Field at St. David’s Performance Center on Friday, September 1 at 8:00 p.m. CT. ATXFC II earned two points on the road in the first meeting between the two sides on August 6.

Austin FC II Outlook

The Verde & Black suffered just their second loss at home last Friday, falling 2-1 to Sporting KC II. Center back Sal Mazzaferro scored his third goal of the season via a Cheick Touré corner kick.

Austin’s defense will aim to return to form after conceding two goals at home for the first time this season. ATXFC II has allowed a league-low 16 goals in 24 contests this season, 10 fewer than the next closest team. The team also has the league's best save percentage (79.8 percent) on 79 shots faced.

A positive from the defeat was the return of midfielder David Rodriguez. Despite missing the last nine matches, Rodriguez ranks second on the team with five goals to go with two assists, providing another attacking option for Head Coach Brett Uttley’s side.

LAFC2 Outlook

LAFC2 fell to Real Monarchs 1-0 at home on Friday night after an 89th minute goal from the visitors.  in. It’s LAFC2’s second consecutive loss and their third in their last five matches.

Through the first 24 games, LAFC2 has recorded 18 goals, the fewest amount in the Western Conference. Leandro Flores and Yekeson Subah lead LAFC2 in goals scored with three apiece. Flores joined LAFC2 on a 12-month loan from Liga MX side Club Tigres. He has appeared in seven contests with four starts since joining LAFC2 on July 16.

LAFC2 was eliminated from postseason contention after their loss on Friday night.
