Austin FC II fell in a 2-1 defeat to St. Louis City SC 2 on Friday night at Parmer Field.
City 2 found the net first in the 23rd minute with a goal by Miguel Perez following a series of saves by goalkeeper Charlie Farrar. Jorge Alastuey equalized 11 minutes later with a team-high ninth goal of the season, finishing an assist from Micah Burton to level the match going into the half.
St. Louis regained the lead early in the second half with a goal by Emil Jääskeläinen. A player from each team was shown a red card for separate incidents as the Verde & Black pushed to tie the match again but ultimately came up short.
