Austin FC II earned two points on Friday night at Parmer Field at St. David’s Performance Center, drawing 1-1 with MNUFC2. The Verde & Black garnered an extra point by defeating MNUFC2 in PK’s, 6-5. ATXFC II remain unbeaten through seven (7) MLS NEXT Pro matches, including a 4-0-1 record at home.

After a weather delay due to lightning, the two teams took the field at Parmer Field at St. David’s Performance Center for a 9:10 p.m. CT kick. ATXFC II saw many chances throughout the first half, the best coming from David Rodríguez forcing the keeper to make a diving save. ATXFC II finished the first 45-minutes with eight shots, six of which came inside the box.

MNUFC2 struck first in the 54th-minute to take a 1-0 lead. The Verde & Black were forced to play the last 30-minutes down a man after Cheick Touré received his second yellow card. ATXFC II found the equalizer in the 86th-minute, as Austin FC Academy product Micah Burton won a contested ball that was picked up by EJ Johnson who fired it to the bottom left corner.

In a thrilling finish, goalkeeper Damian Las made a diving save in PKs to give ATXFC II an extra point on the night, and securing ATXFC II’s first win in PKs this season.
