Austin FC II took home two points with a penalty shootout win following a scoreless draw vs. Sporting KC II on Friday night at Parmer Field.
Offseason addition Djaka Barro made his first start under the Parmer lights and newly-signed goalkeeper Charlie Farrar kept Sporting KC II at bay during his debut with four saves. After a scoreless first half, Jorge Alastuey made his return to the pitch after dealing with a lingering injury, but neither team found a breakthrough in regulation.
The Verde & Black traded blows with the visitors in the shootout, including a perfect take from captain Antonio Gomez, and the bump in the road for Sporting KC II’s path came when Nati Clarke missed his attempt. Micah Burton converted from the spot to seal an extra point for ATXFC II.
