Austin FC II fell 2-1 to Colorado Rapids 2 in their final home regular season match on Friday night at Parmer Field at St. David’s Performance Center.

The Verde & Black opened the scoring in the 26th minute as Alfonso Ocampo-Chavez found the net for the second consecutive match. Bobosi Byaruhanga stayed patient with the ball and then played a cross to the six-yard box that Ocampo-Chavez was able to head in. Just two minutes later, Rémi Cabral equalized for the visitors after he chased down Daouda Amadou’s long pass and his shot deflected off goalkeeper Damian Las into the back of the net. David Rodríguez found a couple of chances late in the first half but could not connect for the lead.

In the 67th minute, Rapids 2 goalkeeper Adam Beaudry extended to save a long shot from Micah Burton. Cabral scored his second goal of the night after Rapids 2 stormed down the field on a counterattack to take a 2-1 lead in the 74th minute and securing the victory.
