Austin FC II will make the trip north to Rock Chalk Park, in Lawrence, Kansas, to face Sporting KC II for its first-ever road match on Sunday, April 2. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. CT.
Austin FC II won its inaugural match last Friday night at Parmer Field at St. David’s Performance Center, defeating Houston Dynamo 2 by a score line of 2-1 in front of a sold-out crowd.
It was Valentin Noël who scored the club's first-ever goal, knocking in an equalizer in the 64th minute on an assist from David Rodríguez. Noël found the back of the net again in the 83rd minute, putting home a shot by teammate Jonathan Santillan that was blocked by the keeper. Noël was one of four players to score two goals in the Opening Matchday of the MLSNP weekend. Goalkeeper Damian Las’ lone save of the night came in the most critical moment in the match, blocking a shot by Dynamo 2 in stoppage time, helping ATXFC II achieve the win.
