Austin FC II is coming off a shutout win over Colorado Rapids 2 in its final home match of the regular season. Patrick Gryczewski scored in second half stoppage time to mark his second goal of the season in two consecutive appearances. With its 18th win of the season secured, Austin clinched first place in the MLS NEXT Pro Western Conference, first place in the Frontier Division, and the No. 1 seed in the MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs.

Austin FC II holds two wins over St. Louis City 2 so far this season, most recently a 2-0 shutout in June. Now, looking towards their final meeting of the regular season, the Verde & Black will look to best St. Louis City 2 once again to wrap up the season series on a high note.

St. Louis City 2 Outlook

St. Louis City 2 narrowly fell to Portland Timbers 2 in penalties to end its seven-match unbeaten streak. City 2 opened scoring with a set piece goal by Zack Lillington and led until Timbers 2 equalized in stoppage time to send the match to penalties. Portland made all six of its penalty attempts and put a stop to St. Louis in its sixth penalty attempt.

Looking at its final home match of the regular season, St. Louis City 2 have proven tough to beat at home with five wins and five draws, totaling 21 points at home. With a playoff spot already secured, St. Louis will aim to close its home schedule with a win over Austin FC II and redeem its previous two losses.
