Austin FC II (3rd in West, 22 pts.) will host Whitecaps FC 2 (2nd in West, 23 pts.) in the team’s second consecutive home match on Friday, June 9 at Parmer Field at St. David’s Performance Center.

Austin FC II Outlook

ATXFC II started off the month of June with an impressive 3-0 win against Real Monarchs last Friday night. David Rodríguez played the entire 90 minutes and scored two goals, while Valentin Noël, the team's leading scorer, sealed the victory with the third goal. Goalkeeper Damian Las also had a great night, earning his joint-league-leading fourth clean sheet of the season.

The team has a strong record of 5-1-1 at home and hopes to build a winning streak in their first two matches of the month. Noël has scored all five of his goals at home and aims to climb back into the Golden Boot race in MLSNP. Austin's defense has also been impressive, only allowing nine goals this season, the lowest in MLSNP. Las has the best goals conceded average (0.75) and the second-best save percentage (77.5) among goalkeepers who have started at least nine matches.

Against Vancouver, ATXFC II will look to repeat the strong performance and aggressive play that led to 12 shots (nine on target), three goals, and three points last time out.

Whitecaps FC 2 Outlook

WFC2 arrives in Austin with an unbeaten record in their last four matches and having earned nine out of a possible 12 points. Although they tied in their last match against Sporting KC II, they managed to win the ensuing shootout by a score of 5-4.

WFC2 is currently ranked high in numerous offensive categories in the league, including first in key passes with 127, fourth in assists with 16, and fifth in goals scored with 23. Levonte Johnson leads the scoring attack for WFC2, having netted five goals this season, with Kamron Habibullah trailing close behind with four goals. 14 different players have scored for WFC2 through the team’s first 13 matches. Defensively, WFC2 completed three clean sheets during the month of May after not having any in their first six contests. The visitors arrive in Austin with a record of 2-2-2 away from home.

The match on Friday will be the first of two meetings between the two sides, with the Verde & Black traveling up to Vancouver, BC on August 20.
