After three consecutive weeks on the road, Austin FC II returns home to Parmer Field at St. David’s Performance Center to take on Sporting KC II on Friday, August 25 at 8:00 p.m. CT. This is the last meeting of the season between the two teams, after the first meeting resulted in a 1-1 tie.

Austin FC II Outlook

ATXFC II played to a 1-1 draw on Sunday against Whitecaps FC II. Valentin Noël scored his first goal since June 2 and is now tied for the team lead in goals scored with six. The result kept the Verde & Black unbeaten for the seventh consecutive match.

Home field has proven to be a true advantage for the Verde & Black. ATXFC II has a league-best nine home wins and has scored 11 goals over their last three home contests.

ATXFC II has held their opponent scoreless in their last five home matches, dating back to May 19. With the season nearing a close and just three home matches remaining, Austin will strive to extend that streak and maximize points on their home turf.

Sporting KC II Outlook

Sporting KC II defeated MNUFC2 1-0 on Saturday as Alenis Vargas’s 79th-minute goal earned them their second straight victory.

Offensively, SKCII has proven to be dangerous on the attack. Their 48 goals are the third most in MLSNP while they’re second in the West with 32 assists.

Vargas was named MLSNP Player of Matchday 22 after putting together a hat trick in Sporting KC II’s 7-1 victory over Timbers2. Vargas has six goals and five assists this season. Josh Coan and Ethan Bryant each have five goals of their own as the duo has combined for seven assists.
