After securing its first win of the season, Austin FC II returns to Parmer Field at St. David’s Performance Center to host Minnesota United FC 2 Friday evening for a 5:30 p.m. CT kickoff. The match will be available to watch on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
Austin FC II Outlook
Austin FC II will stay home after a dominant win over the Colorado Rapids 2 last Friday night at Parmer Field for the season opener. Jimmy Farkarlun, MLS Next Pro’s Player of the Matchweek, set the tone for the match as he scored the Verde & Black’s first goal in the 3rd minute mark. ATXFC II came out of the gates fast, scoring all four of their goals in the first half.
The Verde & Black turn their attention to Minnesota United FC 2 for the second home match and second match overall. The last three matches against Minnesota had ATXFC II away twice, though last season’s home game proved successful as the team won 2-1 last August.
ATXFC II will look to capitalize on its momentum as they face MNUFC2 Friday with the hope of maintaining a perfect record to start the season.
Minnesota United FC 2 Outlook
Minnesota United FC 2 will start its season at Parmer Field in its first match for the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro schedule.
In the offseason, MNUFC2 welcomed four new players. The team ended last least season with all but three players out of contracts. Head Coach Jeremy Hall has been with the team since its 2022 inaugural season as an Assistant Coach but was called up to head the team last year.
ATXFC II and MNUFC2 faired evenly against each other last season as each team posted a win for each on home territory.
