Austin FC II is set to travel west and begin its August schedule in Los Angeles against LAFC2. The match will be the first meeting between the two sides, and will take place at Titan Stadium on Sunday, August 6 at 7:00 p.m. CT.

Austin FC II Outlook

The Verde & Black defeated LA Galaxy II on Sunday 4-0 to win the team's fifth consecutive home match. Alonso Ramírez recorded a goal and an assist. It was the team's third consecutive home match scoring more than three goals.

Four Austin FC Academy products – Bryan Arellano, Micah Burton, Anthony De Anda, and Ervin Torres all saw minutes against Galaxy II. De Anda made his 2023 season debut while Burton and Arellano each recorded a goal. It was Arellano’s first professional goal in his career.

During the month of July, Austin scored 10 goals across three matches, with eight different players scoring. Sébastien Pineau scored two of his four goals so far this season during the first two July matches against Houston Dynamo 2 and Colorado Rapids 2.

Sunday’s match at LA will be the first of three consecutive road matches where Austin will aim to improve their record of 2-3-4 on the road and remain near the top of the table with only eight games left in the regular season.

LAFC2 Outlook

LAFC2 fell 4-2 to St. Louis CITY2 on Saturday at CITYPARK. Matthew Evans and Leonardo Flores both found the net for LA. LAFC2 played six matches in July, finishing with a record of 2-3-1.

LA has won their last two home matches, most recently defeating a Tacoma Defiance team that sits third in the Western Conference standings, 2-1. Yekeson Subah has been the top scorer for LAFC2 with three goals in 17 matches, and 14 different players have scored for the team this season.

LAFC2 ranks among one of the youngest teams in MLSNP and they have featured three different goalkeepers with Abraham Romero starting the last time out.
