Austin FC II announced today that the Club has signed defender Batuhan Arıcı to its MLS NEXT Pro roster via a free transfer from Ümraniyespor. The 22-year-old defender, who holds both American and Turkish citizenship, joins on a contract through 2026 with an option for 2027.
Arıcı spent the majority of his career to date with Ümraniyespor, whom he joined in 2020. Beginning in the youth ranks, he rose through to the club’s U-19 team, second team, and eventually its first team. His time with the senior side was highlighted by two (2) goals in four (4) Turkish Cup appearances and two (2) appearances in the Turkish Süper Lig, the country’s top division.
