Austin FC II took home two points from a home match against Minnesota United FC 2 on Friday night at Parmer Field.
Austin FC II showed aggressive offensive play and found the net first 25 minutes into the match. Peter Grogan gave the Verde & Black the lead with his third goal of the season, set up by Micah Burton.
Despite the Verde & Black’s strong defense opening the second half, Minnesota’s Alisa Randell equalized in the 65th minute. Neither team found the net again in regulation and the match went to penalties.
Team captain Antonio Gomez then scored the decisive spot kick in the shootout as Austin made four as opposted to MNUFC2's two.
