MLS NEXT Pro (MLSNP) announced today that Austin FC II goalkeeper Damian Las was voted the league’s Goalkeeper of the Month for June. The 21-year-old Las registered 12 saves and five (5) clean sheets in the team’s six (6) matches during June.
“It’s a great achievement to be awarded MLS NEXT Pro Goalkeeper of the Month,” said Las. “We had a busy month and the team put together impressive performances that earned us crucial points to remain near the top of the table. My teammates deserve a ton of credit.”
Las currently leads the league in clean sheets with eight (8) in the team’s first 17 matches. He also has the lowest goals conceded average (0.59) of any goalkeeper in MLSNP to appear in at least five (5) matches. Las was recently awarded MLS NEXT Pro Mid-Season Goalkeeper of the Year and was selected to participate in “Goalie Wars” at the MLS All-Star Skills Challenge pres. by AT&T 5G on July 18 at Audi Field.
Las recorded four (4) saves on June 15 against St. Louis CITY2, his most of any match during the month to earn his third consecutive clean sheet. He made two (2) crucial penalty kick saves on June 30 against Real Monarchs to help ATXFC II win the shootout 4-3 and finish the month unbeaten.

The award is voted on by representatives at each club in MLS NEXT Pro.
