Austin FC II twice battled back from a one-goal deficit to claim a road point against Sporting Kansas City II on Sunday evening at Rock Chalk Park.
Beto Avila gave the hosts an early lead in the 25th minute only for the Verde & Black to equalize two minutes later when Jimmy Farkarlun broke free down the right flank to force an own goal. Austin nearly went in front themselves just before halftime as Sébastien Pineau's strike hit the post, only for Avila to net his and SKC II's second of the match in first half stoppage time.
ATXFC II were able to come up with a stoppage time goal of their own in the second half. Cheick Touré's strike from distance took a deflection and rolled in, ensuring the Verde & Black would take home a point from Kansas despite falling in the ensuing penalty shootout.
