Austin FC II battled to a 0-0 draw in its away match vs. The Town FC on Saturday night at PayPal Park. Despite falling 4-2 in the ensuing penalty shootout, the team takes a point back to Texas.
The Verde & Black had the better of the chances throughout the match. Jimmy Farkarlun created the game's first goal-scoring opportunity, cutting inside off the left flank and forcing a save from TTFC's goalkeeper with a right-footed shot in the ninth minute. Micah Burton's header, set up by a quality free kick delivery from Cheick Touré later in the first half, was saved as well.
Antonio Gomez made a smart sliding block to deny the hosts on 61 minutes, in what was TTFC's best attacking moment of the second half.
