ATXFC II vs Galaxy II COVER

Austin FC II earned a point in their second road match of the MLS NEXT Pro season, drawing 1-1 against LA Galaxy II. The result keeps the Verde & Black unbeaten through six (6) MLS NEXT Pro matches, and the team remains in first place in the Western Conference.

ATXFC II opened the scoring in the 21st-minute as Bobosi Byaruhanga scored his first MLSNP goal. The Ugandan international midfielder retrieved a loose ball near the post and calmly found the back of the net to open the scoring. Galaxy II found an equalizer in the 41st-minute on their only shot of the first half.

The Verde & Black had a couple of chances early in the second half, but an offside call disallowed a second goal from Byaruhanga and David Rodríguez saw his shot saved. EJ Johnson had another chance in the 69th-minute, putting his effort over the crossbar from a CJ Fodrey cross.

Byaruhanga nearly found the game winner in stoppage time, but a diving save from the Galaxy II keeper ensured the score stayed level. The hosts then won the ensuing shootout 5-4 to claim the extra point on the night.

Goal-Scoring Summary
