Austin FC II fell to Houston Dynamo 2 on Sunday night at SaberCats Stadium by a scoreline of 2-0.

Dynamo Dos struck first in the 11th minute with a goal from Diego Gonzalez who fired it in the top right corner of the net. Austin’s best chance of the first half came in the 21st minute as Bobosi Byaruhanga sent in a cross to David Rodríguez whose header forced a diving save. Houston scored again in the 40th minute with Charles Auguste finding the net from the top of the box after rebounding a blocked shot.  

The Verde & Black had a chance to reduce the deficit in the 48th minute after a CJ Fodrey takeaway. Fodrey fed the ball up to Rodríguez at the top of the box but his shot sailed outside of the post. In the last two minutes of regulation, goalkeeper Damian Las made two crucial saves to prevent the hosts from extending their lead.
