Austin FC II fell against Minnesota United FC 2 in the team's 2026 home opener on Sunday night at Parmer Field.
New signees Patrick Cayelli, Erik Lauta, and Evan Watt made their Austin FC II debuts in the starting lineup. The Verde & Black fell behind early to a first half hattrick by Minnesota’s Marcus Caldeira. Despite six shot attempts ATXFC II was unable to score before the half.
The Verde & Black came back from the half with a renewed offensive spark. Jorge Alastuey found the back of the net from an assist by Jules Bery to put ATXFC II on the board, though MNUFC2 responded quickly with a fourth goal by Darius Randell.
Alastuey scored another with a left-footed shot from outside the box for the match's final goal though it wasn’t enough to secure any points for the Verde & Black.
