Austin FC II fell 0-1 against San Jose Earthquakes II on Friday night at Parmer Field at St. David’s Performance Center.

ATXFC II had four (4) shots in the first 10 minutes but were unable to find the net. San Jose’s Roberto Hategan scored the game’s only goal in the 33rd-minute, on an assist from Jose David Serrano. The Verde & Black finished the first half with four (4) shots inside the box and had 65 percent possession through the opening 45 minutes.

The Verde & Black applied more pressure in the second half, attempting 10 shots with four (4) on target. CJ Fodrey sent a header from David Rodríguez’s cross into the San Jose goalkeeper’s hands, and Fodrey created another opportunity in the 80th-minute. The winger’s sharp cross found Alfonso Ocampo-Chávez, though the striker couldn’t quite find the net. Jonathan Santillan then came close to scoring the equalizer in the 88th-minute, but was unlucky to see his shot hit the crossbar.
