Austin FC II Defeats Galaxy II 4-0 For Fifth Consecutive Home Win

Austin FC II defeated LA Galaxy II 4-0 on Sunday night at Parmer Field at St. David’s Performance Center. The Verde & Black have now won five (5) consecutive games at home and lead MLS NEXT Pro in home victories with nine (9).

In the 12th minute, Micah Burton scored his second goal of the season in spectacular fashion, giving Austin a 1-0 lead. Alonso Ramírez passed the ball to Burton, who then shot from outside the box to the top left corner, out of reach for Gallaxy II goalkeeper Simon Jillson.

Ramírez doubled the lead for Austin in the 61st minute, converting on a penalty kick. The PK was earned by Sébastien Pineau, who was fouled during a follow-up attempt after Galaxy II goalkeeper Jillson failed to control Steeve Louis Jean's shot in the 59th minute.

Leo Torres scored his first goal for Austin just three (3) minutes after being substituted, extending the lead to 3-0. Valentin Noël delivered a cross from outside the box into the box, where Torres was able to head it into the net.

Bryan Arellano became the second Austin FC Academy product to score for ATXFC II this season after converting his penalty kick in stoppage time to increase the lead to 4-0. Arellano was fouled in the box after dribbling his way around the Galaxy II defender. Goalkeeper Damian Las earned his league-best 10th clean sheet of the season.
