Austin FC II Acquires Goalkeeper Marcus Alstrup and Winger Christopher Garcia

Austin FC II announced today the club acquired free agent goalkeeper Marcus Alstrup and winger Christopher Garcia. Alstrup joins on a two-year deal through the 2025 season, with an option for 2026. Garcia arrives on a season-long loan from USL Championship side El Paso Locomotive FC.

Marcus Alstrup

Alstrup, 19, has made nine (9) total appearances for Denmark at various youth international levels. He was a member of the Odense BK U-19 side which was crowned Danish youth champions in 2020. He departed Odense for Danish second division club SönderjyskE in July 2022. In one (1) season with SönderjyskE, he made 16 appearances at the U-19 level, one (1) at the reserve level and one (1) at the first team level.

Alstrup moved to Danish second tier team B.93 in September 2023, making two (2) first team and two (2) reserve appearances for the club.

Christopher Garcia

Garcia, a 20-year-old El Paso native, is a product of the RSL Academy. He made his MLS debut for RSL in 2020 before a loan stint with Ljungskile SK of the Swedish third tier. Upon returning to RSL, Garcia made two (2) more MLS appearances during the 2022 season, as well as recording one (1) goal and two (2) assists in 10 MLS NEXT Pro appearances with Real Monarchs.

Garcia signed with Locomotive FC permanently ahead of the 2023 campaign and went on to appear in 18 matches with El Paso in 2023, scoring one (1) goal in 383 minutes.
