Austin FC fell in a 2-1 away defeat to St. Louis City 2 on Sunday evening at CITYPARK.

St. Louis opened the scoring in the second minute through Mykhi Joyner, whose strike from just outside the penalty area found the back of the net. The Verde & Black nearly equalized on two occasions later in the first half, with Jimmy Farkarlun denied by City goalkeeper Ben Lundt both times.

Austin did eventually draw level in the 84th minute. Sébastien Pineau netted his team-leading third goal of the season, finishing off a fluid team move. But the hosts would find another goal in stoppage time to win the match, with Wan Kuzain applying the decisive touch.
