Austin FC II moved into first place of the MLS NEXT Pro standings following their eighth consecutive win over Sporting KC II.

The Verde & Black showed a focused defensive effort as Kansas City maintained early possession. Diego Abarca flipped the switch for Austin as he netted his first goal of the night in the 22nd minute with a shot to the top left corner. He then doubled his season record to four goals with a penalty kick in first half stoppage time.

Artem Dashkovets subbed in for his debut in Verde & Black and Patrick Gryczewski made his return from an injury that has kept him out since the first match of the 2025 season. Sporting KC II continued its fight and found itself on the board with a goal from Shane Donovan in the 72nd minute but it wasn’t enough.

This win furthers Austin’s unbeaten streak to 13 matches and signals the Verde & Black’s 8th consecutive win.
