Austin FC II will host Ventura County FC for its second match of the season at home this Sunday, March 8, under the lights at Parmer Field for a 7:30 p.m. CT kickoff. The match will be available to watch on OneFootball and MLSNEXTPro.com.

Austin FC II fell short in its season opener against Minnesota United FC 2 last Sunday. The Verde & Black displayed offensive efforts that resulted in two goals by Jorge Alastuey late in the match, but were unable to secure any points.
ATXFCII now face Ventura County FC at home for the first time this season. Last season, the Verde & Black dominated against VCFC, winning all six of the possible points from two meet ups. ATXFCII will look to recreate those results at home this Sunday in continued hopes to establish home field advantage early in the season.
Ventura County FC Outlook
Ventura County FC come off a short-lived playoff run last season. VCFC clinched the final playoff spot just above Austin FC II but fell short to St. Louis City 2 in the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro Eastern Conference Quarterfinals, ultimately ending the season in eighth place.
VCFC opened its 2026 MLS NEXT Pro season with a win, capturing all three points over Whitecaps FC 2. Headed by third-year head coach Matt Taylor, VCFC created 31 total shots and maintained majority possession of the ball, showcasing an aggressive offensive style as the new season begins.
