Austin FC II picked up one point against North Texas SC Wednesday night in the teams’ season series finale. Neither team found the back of the net in regulation, and in the ensuing penalty shootout North Texas scored three of its penalty attempts and made three stops against Austin to pick up the extra point.
Austin FC II now heads back down I-35 for a quick turnaround to host San Jose Earthquakes II. At the beginning of the month, the Verde & Black faced the Quakes on the West Coast and picked up two points. Austin will look to strengthen its grip on first place in the Western Conference and provide a win in front of the home crowd.

San Jose Earthquakes II earned two points over Houston Dynamo 2 on Wednesday night. Earthquakes II equalized in the second half to send the match to a penalty shootout where San Jose netted all five of its penalty attempts.
San Jose continues its Texas trip and heads west from Houston to face Austin FC II in the capital city. Sitting in eighth place in the MLS NEXT Pro Western Conference standings, the Quakes are in need of points to secure their place in the postseason.
