Austin FC II will host North Texas SC in a derby meet up as its third match of the season at home this Sunday, March 15, under the lights at Parmer Field for a 7:30 p.m. CT kickoff. The match will be available to watch on OneFootball and MLSNEXTPro.com.

Austin FC II Outlook

Austin FC II got off to a hot start against Ventura County FC, with Ibrahima Sall and Riley Thomas securing their first goals for the club to take an early 2-0 lead by the half. VCFC fought back though and the Verde & Black ultimately fell short in a penalty shootout, though the team showed plenty of improvement from their previous match against Minnesota United FC 2.

Austin FC II secured five of the nine possible points against North Texas SC last season.  NTXSC managed its four points from two draws, while the Verde & Black took the only outright win of the three meet ups.

North Texas FC Outlook

North Texas SC come off a win over Colorado Rapids 2. NTXSC netted three goals against the Rapids 2, all a byproduct of an Edouard Nys hattrick. Nys has taken quickly to life in MLS NEXT Pro, also scoring the team’s first goal of the season against Real Monarchs in the season opener. ATXFC II will be focused on keeping him quiet.

Last season, NTXSC finished sixth in the MLSNP Western Conference to reach the playoffs, falling in the first round against San Jose.
