Austin FC II return home after a short break to face Houston Dynamo 2 for the first time this season on Sunday, April 12, for a 7:30 p.m. CT kickoff. The match will be available to watch on OneFootball and MLSNEXTPro.com.
Austin FC II Outlook
Austin FC II stacked victories in its most recent matches, earning back-to-back wins over North Texas SC and Tacoma Defiance. Kenan Hot scored his first goal in Verde & Black against Tacoma, and Mohammad Badawiya tallied his first assist to supply Hot with a shot from the center of the box in the 88th minute and secure Austin all three points in their first away match of the season.
Austin FC II come back from the two-week break to welcome Houston Dynamo 2 to Parmer Field. The Verde & Black faced Dynamo Dos three times last season, taking away four of the total nine points available. Last season, ATXFC II shutout Houston Dynamo 2 at home and will look to recreate that win this time around and throw Dynamo Dos off kilter in Houston’s’ first away match of the season.
Houston Dynamo 2 Outlook
Houston Dynamo 2 are currently headed by Interim Head Coach Jeremy Hurdle, who has led Dynamo 2 to second place in the MLS NEXT Pro Western Conference standings with four consecutive shutout wins. Dynamo Dos find themselves as the only team left in MLS NEXT Pro with zero conceded goals.
Last season, Dynamo Dos earned the remaining five of the nine points possible against the Verde & Black. Just before the break, Houston Dynamo 2 secured its fourth win over derby rival North Texas SC at home and now turn to face their other in-state rival, Austin FC II. Dynamo Dos will look to hold their winning form on a pitch that’s not their own in Sunday’s match up.
