Austin FC II extended its unbeaten run to seven matches with a dominant 3-0 home win over Tacoma Defiance on Sunday night at Parmer Field.
Austin FC Academy product Erick Feliciano made his first Austin FC II start in the match. Though the Verde & Black couldn't break through in the first half, the floodgates opened in the second.
Vlad Dănciuțiu opened his account for the season in the 54th minute, and captain Jorge Alastuey quickly doubled Austin’s lead with a penalty kick just four minutes later. Daniel Cieśla sealed the deal in the 73rd minute, scoring his first career MLS NEXT Pro goal.
The match was delayed in the 80th minute due to inclement weather, and ATXFC II successfully kept Tacoma scoreless once play resumed to see out the team's second consecutive shutout win. The result moves the Verde & Black up to fifth place in the MLS NEXT Pro Western Conference.
