Austin FC II's record-setting winning streak ended on Sunday night with a narrow 3-2 defeat to Minnesota United FC 2.
Minnesota struck first with an early goal in the third minute by Mamadou Dieng, his second of the season. The Verde & Black responded when a shot by Dren Dobruna bounced off the goalkeeper straight to Jorge Alastuey, who tucked it in to equalize with his eighth goal of the season. Alastuey then gave Austin the lead heading into halftime with a header.
Minnesota came back from the half aggressive and equalized in the 64th minute with a goal from Luke Hille, his first of the season. Dieng scored his second to put MNUFC2 back in front with a penalty kick 10 minutes later, earning the win for the visitors.
