Austin FC II announced today the schedule for the team’s 2026 preseason, in preparation for its fourth year competing in MLS NEXT Pro. The team’s preseason officially begins on Saturday, January 17, while some players previously signed to MLS NEXT Pro contracts with the team reported to St. David’s Performance Center on Saturday, January 10.
Austin FC II will play five (5) preseason matches ahead of its 2026 MLS NEXT Pro season, hosting four (4) of them. The first will be at home against Houston Christian University on Saturday, January 31.
Austin FC II will then travel to face Houston Dynamo 2 on Saturday, February 7, before hosting University of the Incarnate Word on Wednesday, February 11, St. Louis City 2 on Sunday, February 15, and Corpus Christi FC on Sunday, February 22.
All Austin FC II preseason matches will be closed to the public. More information about the team’s 2026 MLS NEXT Pro regular season schedule will be announced in the coming weeks.
2026 will be the team’s first season under new Head Coach Jason Shackell, who has been with Austin FC since 2021 as a member of the Club’s academy staff. Shackell’s Austin FC II coaching staff also comprises assistant coach Omar Jarun and goalkeeper coach Peter Davis, both of whom joined in September 2025 ahead of the team’s final matches of the 2025 season.
