Austin FC II announced today that the Club has signed free agent goalkeeper Erik Lauta to its MLS NEXT Pro roster. Lauta joins on a two-year guaranteed deal through the end of the 2027 season with an option for 2028.
Lauta is a 22-year-old goalkeeper originally from Aptos, California. He played collegiate soccer at Tufts University and the University of New Hampshire, earning 2024 America East Goalkeeper of the Year honors as a senior. He then spent his rookie professional season with Huntsville City FC in 2025. Lauta made 15 MLS NEXT Pro appearances for Huntsville, recording four (4) clean sheets and 33 saves.
