Austin FC II collected two points against San Jose Earthquakes II on Sunday night, winning a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw.
Austin FC II opened the scoring in the 32nd minute with a long ball from Evan Watt that found Stefan Dobrijevic in the perfect spot for a shot from the left side of the box. San Jose equalized after the break with a set piece goal in the 53rd minute, though neither team was able to pull ahead by the final whistle.
Austin headed into a penalty shootout for its second match in a row. The Verde & Black and Quakes II each made three of their first five penalty attempts. Erik Lauta then made a big save in the sixth round of penalty attempts and Evan Watt sealed the deal for Austin with a sharp strike.
