Austin FC II picked up a road point against North Texas SC on Wednesday night, drawing 0-0 before falling in a penalty shootout.
There was end to end action in a busy first half. Ibrahima Sall created Austin’s best chance to get on the board with a shot outside the box that hit off the post. Goalkeeper Charlie Farrar made three key saves to stave off NTSC’s offensive pressure.
North Texas came back from the break with a renewed offensive spark until a red card saw NTSC forced to play a man down. Farrar continued a strong performance between the posts, doubling his save tally as the match wound down scoreless and moved into a shootout.
The hosts scored three of their penalty attempts and made three saves against ATXFC II to take the extra point.
