Austin FC II earned a 10th consecutive win on Sunday night, extending their record-setting streak by beating Colorado Rapids 2 3-2 at Parmer Field.
The Verde & Black opened scoring in the fifth minute with a goal by Vlad Dănciuțiu for his third of the season. Erik Lauta then made two key saves to send the match into the half scoreless.
Austin came back from the break hungry. The dynamic duo of Stefan Dobrijevic and Kenan Hot combined for two goals in three minutes, with Hot assisting Dobrijevic for both strikes.
Colorado made multiple attempts to answer and eventually found itself on the board with a goal in the 80th minute. A penalty kick in stoppage time cut the deficit to one, but it wasn’t enough for the visitors to take any points from the game.
The victory keeps Austin FC II in first place in the MLS NEXT Pro Western Conference and extends its unbeaten streak to 15 matches.
