Austin FC II claimed one point from an away trip to in-state rivals Houston Dynamo 2 on Sunday evening, drawing 1-1.
Houston found the net first with a goal by Arthur Sousa in the 25th minute. Austin FC II upped the pressure in the final ten minutes to find the equalizer in the 86th minute with a goal by Christian Ayala. The goal was Ayala's second of the week following his first career goal against Vancouver on Wednesday, and it sent the match to penalties.
The Verde & Black made four of their five penalty attempts but Houston made all five of its penalty attempts to take the extra point.
