Soccer For All Week kicks off on Monday with Austin FC participating in the league-wide initiative that highlights MLS’s mission to ensure everyone is welcome to the soccer world, regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, gender identity, disability, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status. Soccer for All emphasizes the league’s commitment to drive positive social change and end discrimination.

Austin FC, too is committed to the values of inclusivity throughout the year as it strives to close gaps of accessibility and to help amplify the voices of underrepresented communities, including low-income youth, Special Olympics athletes, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Below are just some of the programs Austin FC is running to support the Club’s goals n the next few weeks.

Q2 Stadium Restorative Circle Event

The upcoming Restorative Circle event at Q2 Stadium aligns perfectly with one of three Austin FC’s community pillars: inclusivity through equity. The event is an opportunity for Supporter Group members and Q2 employees to take part in Restorative talking circles to discuss how we can help build a truly inclusive and equitable environment at Q2 Stadium. The event takes place on May 15 at Q2 Stadium.

Ten members from each supporter group, including members of La Murga, Austin Anthem, and Los Verdes, along with members from Q2 and Austin FC staff, will take part in the event as the Club strives to create an inclusive environment at Q2 Stadium once it opens.

Austin Pride Patch

The return of the commemorative Austin FC Pride Patch kicks off Pride Month celebrations on June 1.

For the second consecutive year, proceeds of the fan-favorite Austin FC Pride Patch benefits the Austin LGBT Chamber of Commerce’s Education Fund 501(3)(c), which helps support LGBTQIA+ students and future entrepreneurs.

Verde Leaders

An ongoing initiative, and a core pillar of Austin FC’s community impact programming, Verde Leaders equips teens from low-income Austin neighborhoods with a community of support and the social, emotional, and practical tools needed to thrive in today’s world. Through after-school training, in-school support and community engagement, Verde Leaders helps participants learn necessary tools to succeed.
