AUSTIN, Texas-  4ATX Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Austin FC, announced today it has awarded BuildSoccer a $10,000 grant to assist with BuildSoccer’s objective of building community through soccer.

BuildSoccer, a non-profit organization based in South Austin and led by Founder and President Christie Ciccarello, is planning a soccer park in South Austin on land owned by The Marbridge Foundation, a home for adults with intellectual disabilities. The young people engaged through BuildSoccer will be provided with a safe park to have positive life experiences through soccer and learn the value of giving back to the community through the relationship BuildSoccer nurtures with The Marbridge Foundation and the Special Olympics.

“4ATX Foundation is proud to support BuildSoccer and their mission of harnessing the sport of soccer as a means to positively impact lives in Austin,” commented Andy Loughnane, President of Austin FC and 4ATX Foundation Board Member.

“I’d like to thank 4ATX Foundation for their grant and welcome them into the BuildSoccer family,” added Christie Ciccarello. “Our core objective is to build a park facility to better serve the community through recreational soccer programming at our base in South Austin, next to The Marbridge Foundation whose residents we want to integrate into BuildSoccer through work internships, paid positions for field management and through volunteer opportunities. Ultimately, we are aiming at our facility becoming a site for regional Special Olympics events.”
